Daphy Am is a singer/ songwriter with her own specific and recognizable style that was influenced by many different kinds of music she likes. She also writes songs for the blues/rock band Madelyn Dee that sound completely different and is topped with a “Madelyn Dee sauce”. The songs you can hear on Sound Cloud, are all and pure Daphy Am!
Performance
Lead/background vocals and piano by Daphne Reijnoudt. Strum guitar and solo guitar by Bas van Kampen.
Mixing and Mastering
Mixing was done in Cubase Pro 12. Mastering was done using WaveLab Pro 11.1 by Antoine van Kampen. The challenge with this mix came from several tracks that already contained reverb. I was able to remove part of this reverb from the percussion track with SpectraLayers 9, but this didn’t succeed from the piano track which created strange artifacts. Another challenge was the bass that comprised a deep synth-bass patch which turned out to be difficult to get into the mix. The guitar parts were re-recorded. Nevertheless, I am happy with the result given the challenges. See [here] for Cubase, WaveLab and Spectralayers.
