Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) online training (Cubase and/or WaveLab)
Do you want to learn the how to use a digital audio workstations (DAW) for midi or audio recording and editing but don’t know how to start? Do you want to learn how to use dedicated mastering software. Then drop me an email to inquire about the possibilities to learn Cubase and/or WaveLab. I provide online training for individuals or small groups.

Cubase
Cubase (Steinberg). The content of the training depends on your background and experience with Cubase but possible topics are:
- Basic setup and configuration of Cubase
- Finding your way around in Cubase
- Midi and audio routing
- Recording and editing MIDI
- Recording and editing audio
- Editors
- Project logical editor
- MixConsole
- Using the Control Room
- Understanding and making a (mix) templates
- Inserts (plugins), sends, effects (FX) channels, mix busses (group channels).
- VCA vs group tracks
- Virtual Instruments (VSTi)
- Fader and parameter automation
- Metering (e.g., Loudness meter)
- Introduction to the mixing of multitracks (songs)
- etc
WaveLab
WaveLab (Steinberg) is a program for mastering. The content of the training depends on your background and experience with WaveLab, but possible topics are:
- Configuring WaveLab
- Metering
- Master section
- Montages
- CD text and Metadata
- Using the inspector
- Rendering
- Making presets and templates
What do I offer?

Cubase and/or WaveLab training will be tuned towards your needs. You pay per lesson and can start, stop (and re-engage) at every moment to ensure that the training fits your schedule and progression.
You will need a license of Cubase and/or WaveLab on your own computer (let me know if you need advice on this).

I will always use the latest Pro versions of Cubase and WaveLab during the lessons.
In addition, depending on your use of Cubase/WaveLab you may need an audio interface (I use the Scarlett 4i4 and X32), midi interface (I use the old UM-1 USB midi interface), and or (midi) keyboard (e.g., something simple like the Keystation, or a large keyboard like the Komplete Kontrol). Please let me know if you need advice on this.
For the online lessons we will use Zoom (for video and audio streaming), which you need to install. Zoom is free.
Training will be in English or Dutch.
