Composition and arrangement
This song was composed and arranged solely based on samples provided by Sound Education Nederland complemented with samples from Cubase and Native Instruments.
The idea was to build a track in a modern style with the provided samples (although influences from other music styles such as pop are certainly allowed). It was not mandatory to use all of the included samples from the library, but it was mandatory to use (at least some parts of) the included vocal. Further instructions were as follows: Initialize a new project in the DAW (Cubase) and set the tempo to 142 BPM, and turn on the grid (quantize) function. You have complete freedom to play with the vocal building blocks or other elements. Cut, delete, slide, add your own elements – everything is allowed. But it is mandatory to use (parts of) the vocal. The vocal samples are quite cheesy, but the challenge is to turn them into something cool. Here too you have complete freedom to treat or mistreat the vocal in such a way that it suits what you like. The samples from SEN are in C# minor, a tricky scale although you can of course use the transpose function in your DAW. The final track should be mixed down as a 24 bit 44.1kHz wav file.

Mixing and Mastering
Mixing was done in Cubase Pro 11 by Antoine van Kampen using various third-party plugins. Mastering was done with WaveLab 11. For the mastering I mainly used Ozone 9 plugins in combinataion with the TDR Limiter 6 GE.
