Mackie Big Knob Passive
To control volume listening levels, I previously used the Mackie Big Knop Passive. Currently, I use the Audient Nero.
The Mackie Big Know is a simple 2×2 monitor controller that can choose between 2 sources and 2 monitor pairs. It comprises a large volume dial and mono, mute and dim functions.
I only use one input source (mix bus 1 and 2 from the X32) and two pairs of monitors (Kalin IN-8 and Avantone Mix cube). Thus, basically, it sits between the X32 and the monitors. Occasionally, I use the second source just to listen to music from my mobile phone since it contains a mini jack (3.5mm) connection at the back side. The mono function is very convenient during mixing to check for any mixing issues.
