Antoine van Kampen – Music producer
Antoine is a Dutch semi-professional music producer, musician, and mixing engineer. He graduated cum laude from Sound Education Nederland and has built extensive experience in music production, performance, mixing, and mastering. His work spans a wide range of musical genres, and his productions can be found on this website but also on YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, and other streaming platforms.
Antoine’s musical journey began at a young age with formal training on the electronic organ, where he primarily performed classical and popular repertoire from sheet music. After six years, he transitioned to piano and synthesizer, including the Crumar Bit 99, and joined his first band, Bad Weather. Around the same time, he was introduced to music production and mixing using Cubase on a Atari computer at the local music school’s recording studio—a formative experience that sparked a lifelong passion for music technology.
Over the past three decades, Antoine has performed live in numerous bands and ensembles covering a diverse range of styles, including rock, pop, funk, jazz, musical theatre, and big band. These experiences have provided him with a deep understanding of musicianship, arrangement, and performance, all of which continue to influence his own compositions and productions.
Alongside his work as a performer, Antoine has developed extensive expertise in digital music production. He is highly proficient with Steinberg Cubase and has experience with a broad range of professional music software, including Dorico for composition and notation, Cubase for recording and mixing, and WaveLab for mastering. He also works with high-quality virtual instruments and sample libraries from companies such as Steinberg, Native Instruments, EastWest, and Spitfire Audio. In addition, he has taught introductory courses in audio mixing using Reaper. and currently runs a mixing club in the Netherlands, where enthusiasts and professionals share knowledge and experience.
To support his musical activities, Antoine founded Skippy Studio in 2010. The studio is a well-equipped professional home studio featuring an extensive collection of keyboards , recording equipment, software instruments, and production tools. By optimizing his mixing environment, he continues to refine the quality and accuracy of his productions. He is also fascinated by the mathematics and physics of sound and their practical application in recording, mixing, and mastering.
In 2020, Antoine decided to step away from live band performances to focus entirely on music production. Today, he combines composing, arranging, performing, recording, mixing, and mastering within a single creative workflow. This broad skill set enables him to guide projects from the initial musical idea to the final mastered production in a highly interactive and collaborative manner.
Antoine is always interested in new musical projects and collaborations. Whether you need support with your home studio, Cubase, music production, mixing, or mastering, he would be happy to discuss how he can help bring your ideas to life [services].
