Going portable with Cubase (Friday 29 August, 2025)
I decided to install my Steinberg software (Cubase, WaveLab, Dorico, Spectralayers, and HALion 7) on a laptop that I didn’t use any longer. This allows me to check performance of Cubase on a regular laptop, and to have a Cubase installation that only contains the native plugins, virtual instruments, and sample libraries. However, I decided to also install FabFilter and the TDR limiter).
I connected the laptop to the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 audio interface and a pair of Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II Speakers I hade lying around. As an alternative, I can also use it with my Steinberg UR44c audio interface.
Now I can take the Steinberg software on any road trip……………..
