I just decided on the next song to work on: Full of Feeling.

Last week I also made a video to go with ‘Corona Opera’. Here it is:
I was also looking for a list a DAWs (Digital Audio Workstation) available these days and found a nice overview at the site of musicradar. It list a large number of free and commercial DAWs including Cubase from Steinberg which I am using. I have been using Cubase from the very first versions when it was still running on an Atari ST (game) computer:
You can still see it in action here:

After listening a few time more to my 1-minute song (Corona Opera) I was not fully satisfied with the balance of different parts, but also not with the ending (too less tension). I think I have improved it now. Judge yourself:

Still in intelligent lockdown in the Netherlands during easter, and advised to stay at home. Therefore took the opportunity to compose a 1-minute song (Corona Opera) for which I used Voices of the Opera from East West. I bought this library a while a ago but never could find the time to explore it. Thus, this was my kick-off using some of the samples from VotO. Here is some advertisement for this library:
A brief description of the Corona Opera is found here. Listen to the end result at soundcloud:
I am also still working on Fresh Start. Waiting for new vocals but here is how it sounds today:

The Corona virus kicked in resulting in a lockdown of the Netherlands. Thus, working at home which saves me 3 hours of traveling every day that I can now spend on music.
I have upgrade RealStrat 3 to RealStrat 5 from MusicLab since version 3 was not compatible anymore with Steinberg Cubase 10.5.
The last week I have been work on Fresh Start. It slowly is starting to shape. Very preliminary version of the vocals were added to have some idea of how the other parts should be shaped. I updated the BFD3 drum parts to have a better fit with the bass guitar and to add some variation. By the way, the bass part I composed in Steinberg Dorico 3 and then exported as midi to Cubase. The guitar parts that you are hearing are played using RealStrat 5 and Amplitube but will be replaced with real guitar parts in due time. Not sure if I like the synth part in the chorus thus it may still change. Here it is how it sounds like:
Here is the bass part of the Verse shown in Dorico:
I also bought a tuning fork as a gadget. Nice to have. More about this here.
