To complete my Fender Rhodes setup I added the Warden Optical Compressor. Still experimenting to get the best settings.

Also also started to make a new mix of Seven Monkeys. This was one of my earlier compositions and mixes. Listening again at this song it was clear that it is open for many improvements. I have re-recorded the sax part and some of the Hammond and string parts. Currently still being mixed but hopefully it will be an improvement. More about this soon……

This week Cubase 11 from Steinberg was released. Lot’s of useful new features such as the dynamic EQ, an imager, and the Supervision. Just installed it. Need to explore all the new content.

The last two weeks I added the ART TPatch, Boss DD-8 Digital Delay, and Boss RV-6 Reverb to the configuration of my Fender Rhodes.

This resulted in a somewhat complex configuration together with the Mustang GTX50:

I always had some humm/noise coming from my Fender Rhodes setup. Not much and I never bothered to check where it actually originated from. However, since I now also amplify with my new Mustang GTX50, I decided to isolate the problem. The signal coming directly out of the Rhodes is perfectly clean (that is, after detaching all stompboxes). Next, I checked all stompboxes one-by-one but the problem remained. Only when I disconnected the one-spot power supply from TrueTone the Humm disappeared. Probably, I need a better power supply which generates less humm and with isolated outputs such as the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 PLUS. However, I need some advice on this since it turns out that the whole issue with powering stompboxes is actually quite complex. For example, when to use y-cables? When to daisy chain.
