I now consider Eight Monkeys to be final, and didn’t make any further changes to the previous draft mix. I have also upload the song to Spotify. Here it is again. Enjoy.

By the way, did you know:

First 88 notes piano was build around the year 1850 (88 notes = 7 1/3 octave)
It has a range of A0=27.5 Hz to C8=4186 Hz (I would have expected that the frequency would be much higher, but of course we have the additional harmonics)
This range covers lowest note of double bassoon to highest note of piccolo.

18 ton string tension in piano. 30 tons in grand piano!!

Almost the end of the year, and it has been a while since informed you about latest developments. I have been working on a new version and mix an song that I did several years ago: Seven Monkeys. I liked the song but was never pleased with various aspects of the composition and the mix. The last few weeks I have made changes throughout the song and re-recorded some of the parts including the sax, which is now played by Tomas. A complete draft mix is now available from SoundCloud. This revisited version has been named ‘Eight Monkeys‘. I expect to make some further small changes the coming period.

I addition, I have been recording a Christmas Song for my collegues in my group at the Amsterdam University Medical Centers: White Christmas. I played this song many years ago and quickly did a recording on my mobile phone and posted it on YouTube:

Finally, I made a video ‘Happy New Year 2021’ in which I play Hammond XK5 and the Roland AX-Synth:

Hope you enjoy these contributions.

Finally, my son (Bas van Kampen) released a new video with his band Changing Tides:
